About Kendra Confer

I have worked at Growing Tree Toys for 3 years as a copywriter for our store’s every expanding website, where I get to play with demo toys to learn the “in’s” and “out’s” of all our products. Since I can’t really justify buying endless amounts of toys for myself, my family and friends are pretty much guaranteed to get presents from Growing Tree Toys – and no one is happier about that than my little 9-year-old sister! Whether it’s her birthday, Christmas, or Memorial Day (I couldn’t resist a new art kit), I always buy her one of my favorite products so we can both enjoy it! When I’m not tinkering with toys, I spend my spare time reading any and every book I can get my hands on by authors such as J.K. Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, and Charlaine Harris. Because of my reading obsession, I own approximately 200 books!

Monkey See, Monkey Do – A “Dress Me Up” Staff Review

Tweet My daughter has always called her tiny toddler, Desi, her “little monkey.” And what do monkeys do? They imitate the actions of those around them, which is handy when little ones work on developing motor skills, hand-eye coordination and reasoning. Consequently, there’s no bigger incentive to tempt a toddler to learn these important skills [...]

Did you conquer the Cube (or fail miserably, like me)? – Take Me Back Tuesday remembers the Rubik’s Cube

Tweet My reign as a puzzle master ended the day my mom gave me the Rubik’s Cube. She saw it as a challenge for someone of my skill, while I saw it as an unsolvable, infuriating piece of plastic that I’d spend hours every day trying to master. I was intrigued, and annoyed, as I [...]

Why bake it when you can build it? – A birthday cake to remember

Tweet I’ve heard of cake as hard as brick, but have you heard of the cake made of bricks – LEGO bricks that is? LEGOLAND California celebrated its 10th birthday this past March with a big birthday bash and an even bigger birthday cake (the world’s largest in fact)! Made from 100,000 LEGO bricks, LEGOLAND’s [...]
